JJ Industries of Connecticut is currently seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to promote and sell metalworking tools, cutting tools and associated products and services to metalworking companies, manufacturing plants and production facilities.  By exhibiting exceptional customer service skills you will enjoy working with experienced Manufacturer’s Representatives, support by a dedicated Inside Sales Team, access to premium cutting tool lines and in-house manufacturing and regrinding services that are the highest quality and Pratt & Whitney approved. 

The preferred candidate should have:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of proven outside sales experience in the cutting tool industry, metalworking sales or industrial distribution. 
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, manufacturing, and metalworking.

Desired Skills include:

  • Ability to sell and service accounts using cutting tool technical knowledge.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to coordinate, delegate, organize, and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Desire to find and sell to new customers that use our products.
  • Must be outgoing and able to establish relationships with customers.
  • Ability to adapt and react in a challenging and competitive environment.
  • Must be assertive and aggressive in finding solutions and products for our customers.
  • General computer knowledge.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Promote our products, services, and solutions by educating customers and using relationships with established customers and finding prospective customers to ensure the achievement of individual and company sales and profit goals.
  • Ensures growth of sales by independently identifying and developing new prospects and growing business to contribute to the achievement of company sales goals.
  • Suggests new products, strategies and solutions based on customer feedback, comments and purchase history to ensure achievement of sales goals.
  • Manages customer relations. Responds to customer needs. Consults with manager to identify and implement solutions to problems. Use full factory support to advance sales.
  • Demonstrates teamwork with entire organization to ensure achievement of team and corporate sales goals by practicing customer management and applications support.
  • Dedicates time to learn new products, market analysis and strategic solutions to customer needs
  • Maintains sales records and generates relevant market/sales reports for management as needed.
  • Develops a personal business plan under general management supervision to establish personal annual goals.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
